We are on most insurance panels including Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Medical Mutual, United Health Care, Medicare, and many others. The best way to find out is to inquire with your insurance company. Additionally, we accept cash, check, or major credit cards at the time of service.

Your insurance company may require authorization. Call the number on the back of your insurance card to request authorization for behavioral or mental health services. Also, ask answers to the following questions:

  • What is my copay?
  • How many visits am I entitled to per calendar year?
  • How much is my deductible?

If You Have Medicare

Legacy Psychological Services, LLC, is a Medicare Part B provider and accepts Medicare fee schedules and allowable amounts. After you have met the annual deductible, Medicare Part B pays 80% of the allowed amount for evaluations, testing, and counseling services.

If you have Medicare gap-filler or supplemental health insurance, then this plan may pay the remainder of the fee. You are responsible for the balance of the bill that is not paid by Medicare and your secondary Medicare gap insurance.

If you have a Medicare Advantage HMO or PPO plan, then you are responsible for the co-payments outlined by your plan.

If you are on Medicaid, you pay nothing, and you will not be billed at all. You will only receive a bill if you have a balance.

Our Billing Process

Step 1: If we see you in our Hamilton Avenue office, you make your co-payment if one is required.

Step 2: We bill Medicare or your insurance plan and it pays its share of the allowed amount.

Step 3: After Medicare or your insurance has paid, the claim is forwarded to your secondary/supplemental insurance company if you have one and it pays its share of the charges.

Step 4: We will adjust your account and deduct any charges above the Medicare/insurance allowable amount.

Step 5: You pay the balance if there is one.

We co-manage our claims and billing processes with Therasoft practice management. Call Therasoft at (800) 257-3627 for answers about your account.
